Seattle!

This will probably be a really short post, seeing as we're leaving to go to Chipotle soon. However, I just wanted to take a moment to share the adventures of Larn and Sara this past week. We've been hanging out with some Vocal Union friends in good ol' Seattle! It has been a blast. We've stayed up far too late every night, gone to Pike's Market, a Mariner's game, EMP, Snoqualmie Falls...

...it has been so much fun! Don't fret - we'll post pictas soon.

Radi-wha?!

You may be asking yourself right now, "Oh. my. gosh. WHAT is up with the den these days?! It's been far too long since they've updated!"

Fear not. All will be revealed unto you.

Needless to say, with finals and projects and papers and tests and graduations galore, it has been quite the madhouse around here. Dishes? - well...they get done, mostly. Clean checks? - I haven't found any mold yet. (We'll keep you posted). Grocery shopping? - PBJ & Nutella never tasted so good. We're surviving, and that's all that matters.

In more exciting news! - Our dear roommate Becca Price finalized an internship in Boulder, Colorado, scheduled to begin April 22nd. She'll be doing mostly copyrighting for an advertising company there, and getting paid! Not too shabby!

And our littlest, but maybe most ambitious member of the rambunctious crew, Megan, just landed herself an spot in the radiology program at BYU Provo! And if you're anything like me, you might be wondering what radiology is. Radiology is...simply...x-rays? ....for to learn how to.... Well...maybe you should just Wikipedia it. Anyway, this is a tough spot to get! So if you're asking yourself, "Should I be excited about this?", be excited about this! Out of forty who got interviewed, only twenty got accepted! So can we get a shout out for our little baby Megan? Way to be, girl.

And in closing:
Just in case you didn't think it could happen twice - BEAUTIFUL weather was, once again, bestowed upon the humble town of Rexburg today. So in celebration, a few of us roomies took the liberty of laying out on the front lawn for a good hour and half this afternoon. Quality bonding time? Absolutely. Did we get tanner? Absolutely not.

Tea Time!

Life is a compilation of moments. The good, the bad, and the ugly - we take 'em all.

Today, thanks to beautiful weather (YES! It CAN happen in Rexburg!), we all managed to make it through another Wednesday, another clean check, and another day of classes. One of the moments that made the day beautiful? - Three Minute Tea Time! Complete with graham crackers and chocolate frosting, and followed by a frisbee game in the yard.

A most complete day...

...indeed.

Quirks

Our lovely abode doesn't seem to have enough quirks on it's own so of course we, as residents, must add to it's splendor.

Firstly, it becomes a game to try and figure out who wrote on the dishwasher depending on what is said. And obviously the word of the day must be implemented into our vocabulary. It is used as often as deemed necessary and correct...or just as much as we can fit it into a sentence.

Secondly, cups have become nonexistent in this house and have recently been removed from the endangered species list and added to the extinct list. We have mugs instead. Yes, you know, hot chocolate mugs. The ones you cradle and caress in your hands to warm yourself up from a day of playing in the snow. They come in all shapes and sizes. We don't know where most of them came from.

Thirdly, I would like to introduce this chair. It's seen better days I'm sure, but it's never been as loved as it is now in it's broken form. It resides in the corner of the vanity, next to the radiator where many go to seek warmth and comfort. I must say, having a chair so completely low to the ground (absolutely on the ground) is extremely comfortable in ways only expressed when sat upon.

Megan. (Apparently it means "pearl"?)

Today we had a moment of heart-felt, honest-to-goodness panic in the den. As I was re-discovering my love of the band Death Cab for Cutie I walked aimlessly into the living room to chat with Megan. I mentioned something about really liking the song "What Sarah Said" because it had my name in it, after which Megan exclaimed, "There aren't any songs with my name in them!"
It's true. She said that. She even whined.
Anyway...
About ten minutes later (and by ten minutes I mean 30 seconds) Megan's hope and joy was restored.
She had found "her" song...

Luckily, it's a good song. And luckily, it's originally sung by a band called the Smoking Popes. Luckily.

News from the Den

ROAD TRIP!!!
Okay...by road trip we mean, road trip around the corner to FHE. Tonight was eventful to say the least. How did we lose the paper with the directions on it between getting in the car and the (should have been) five minute drive to the Hochstrasser's? - Don't ask. We're just that talented. The important thing is that we made it...right? We were only a half hour late. We only misled two cars full of people. It's NBD.
Moral of the story - eight girls crammed in a five-seater for 30 minutes equals the best Monday night of your life.
